The New Prayer Room Project

After much consultation and revision of plans, the University of the West of England Islamic Society has been blessed with a new Prayer room, where major improvements and changes where made to the older prayer room.

These where the first renovations in 17 years and are due solely to the grace of Allah, most high then to the efforts of students and lecturers and the excellent support of the UWE senior staff.

The (almost £25,000) prayer room project plans consisted of the following changes and improvements:

-A brand new prayer room for the sisters, replacing the opposite office.

-An enlargement of the Brothers prayer room that includes the previous sisters prayer room.

-A private Wudoo' (ablution) facility for the sisters, as part of a brand new disabled toilet with a direct entrance from the room.

-A renovation of the male toilet facility that includes a large Wudu' area.

-Brand new carpets, ceilings, lighting and decoration for the whole 3e41 area!

The photos below show the prayer room and the washing facilities before the renovation, during the renovation and after the renovation! This will help you see where all of your donations went!
